Simon Cowell Planning Caribbean Wedding

  • March 26, 2010 at 11:24 am

X Factor judge Simon Cowell is said to be planning an unusual wedding for his bride Mezhgan Hussainy. He wants to purchase a large yacht and name it “The Simon Cowell’ and wed his finance aboard it.

According to the Mail Online, “Simon sees Barbados as his home from home. It would be such a great place to get married, and the plan is to do it at sea. The idea is to pick up all the guests in Barbados and then sail to St. Barts and get married there.

“Then they’d all sail back to Barbados for a huge party. It would just be close friends and family on the yacht. Simon has been saying he’d name it after himself.”

However, the idea of marrying in the Caribbean may meet some resistance from his mother Julie, who is keen for the wedding to take place in East Sussex, where Simon grew up. Mrs Cowell, 84, is said to have her heart set on St Margaret’s Church in Rottingdean, near Brighton, whose priest, Father Martin Morgan, was a guest at Cowell’s lavish 50th birthday party last year.

50 year-old multi-millionaire bachelor Simon, who split from ex Terri Seymour 19 months ago is reported to have proposed to 36 year-old Afghanistan born Mezhgan on Valentine’s Day last month

  • December 12, 2009 at 5:15 pm

Turquoise could be the colour of 2010 ‘for bridesmaid dresses’
Choosing the perfect wedding dress is something that many brides will do first in their wedding planning. Selecting gowns for their bridesmaids  will probably be next on their list and thinking about colours and styles will be a big decision.

One colour scheme which  brides to be could choose  is turquoise, as Pantone has named it as its colour of 2010.

According Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the institute, Pantone 15-5519 Turquoise has been selected because it is considered to be “a protective talisman, a colour of deep compassion and healing and a colour of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky”.

Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.
“In many cultures, Turquoise occupies a very special position in the world of color,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.”

So, if you decide to choose this beautiful colour for your bridesmaids dresses, then you will no doubt be looking for lovely bridesmaids jewellery to match. Girls Love Pearls have a fabulous collection to choose from. Bollywood Star Shilpa Shetty declines Hello magazine deal

  • November 25, 2009 at 11:51 am

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty reportedly declined a deal worth nearly £75,000 from Hello magazine for exclusive rights to cover her wedding. She tied the knot with UK based businessman Raj Kundra at a wedding ceremony in South East Mumbai.

A source told an Indian daily newspaper that Celebrity Big Brother winner turned down the deal because she was uncomfortable with some of the conditions. The source said: “One of the clauses in the contract offered by the international magazine was that no other photographers would be allowed at the event. Also they didn’t want any of the guests to carry their cell phones in case someone leaked the pictures to other media. Ms Shetty was not comfortable with either of these conditions.”

The 34-year-old actress did not want her guests to be frisked or their cell phones taken away, the source added, “She is not looking to make money from this wedding. It is a sacred and a beautiful occasion for her, and she doesn’t want any bad energy around.”

All the outfits Shilpa wore at the three main events of her wedding celebrations were designed by Tarun Tahiliani. Raj wore Sherwanis by designers Shantanu-Nikhil for the wedding as well as the reception.

The reported price tag for her wedding jewellery, classic Kundan pieces with uncut diamonds and emeralds, has been put at Rs 3 crore (30 million).

After wearing Kundan jewellery for her engagement, the Mehndi/Sangeet ceremony and the wedding, Shilpa opted for diamonds and rubies for the wedding reception to compliment her Indo-western fusion outfit in gold.
